Pumpkins from Ohio and New York are fresh-picked and then displayed in a shaded lot to help preserve their freshness. A pumpkin carving table is available to carve a Jack-o-Lantern at the farm and leave the mess with us, and carving tools may be purchased from any cashier.

The Annual Harvest Moon Dinner was presented by Heritage Park and the Sanford Historic Trust. Show off your tablescaping skills and mingle with Sanford’s great community.

This year’s theme is: If you can bring one person to dinner, dead or alive, who would be the dinner guest of your dreams?

Is it your Grandmother with the best meatball recipe since the ’90s? Good. Bring her! Is it a local celebrity? Good. Bring them! Halloween Tours At The Wonder House

This hour-long guided historical tour of the Wonder House covers three floors. The Images of the Sanford Calendar are here! This is the Sanford Historical Trust’s annual calendar reveal event. This free calendar is organized by the Sanford Historic Trust and paid for by sponsorship, in which 100% of the money raised is reinvested into the cost of making and printing calendars to help promote the community.

Sanford’s Images will be introducing the 13 black and white photos selected to appear in the Images of the Sanford calendar. Come and meet the photographers. Advance copies of the schedule will be available.

Zombie Run

Run for your life! A flesh-eating epidemic is coming to the South Florida Fairgrounds. Experience the thrills of being chased by bloodthirsty zombies as you race for your life in this one-of-a-kind run. The creepy all-terrain course is a trail populated by the undead. All skill levels are welcome, so you can run, walk, or crawl to the finish line. As the sun sets, the infected will rise. Will you survive?

How it works:

The race will be chip timed by Accuchip Timing, and we will have awards for the top finishers/survivors.
Runners: costumes are welcome, but No mask or weapons,
An adult must accompany children under 18.
Zombies will NOT contact runners in any way.
Direct contact between runners and zombies is strictly prohibited. Violators will be asked to leave.
Water will be available on the course.

Closing Thoughts

Who knew there were some many things to do in Central Florida? Who knew that Fall, in particular, brings on so many opportunities for locals and visitors alike? I love Fall, and Halloween, and I enjoy celebrating traditions. I am excited that there is so much going on in my home state – Florida!
