Suncoast Broadway Dinner Theatre offers an affordable night out and delivers Broadway-quality shows. I am often amazed at how many locals have not been to the theatre or do not know what it offers.
Origins and Opening Year
The theatre opened as the Show Palace Dinner Theatre before later adopting the Suncoast Broadway Dinner Theatre name. Located on the Pasco–Hernando county line near Hudson, it launched to serve the Gulf Coast audience less than an hour from Tampa. From its start, it combined plated or buffet dining with staged musical productions, positioning itself as a regional venue specializing in Broadway-style shows.
You’ll see the venue repeatedly marketed as Central Florida’s professional dinner theatre focused on popular Broadway titles. Local marketing and listings trace their identity through the Hudson Dinner Theater and Show Palace names into their current brand.
The venue expanded its calendar beyond musicals to include tributes, concerts, and holiday events, broadening its appeal and driving repeat attendance. It has run multi-show seasons (for example, a 2022–2023 season listing six Broadway-style shows and multiple concerts), signaling growth in programming ambition and season-ticket offerings.
Management and branding shifts shifted public perception; reviews and social posts document changes in leadership and interior design that affected the patron experience. The theatre also built a local following on platforms like Facebook and TripAdvisor, where audience feedback influenced programming choices and special-event planning.
Physical renovations and seating reconfigurations occurred under new management, with at least one notable interior rearrangement that improves sightlines, dining flow, and accessibility for a mixed dining-and-theatre experience.
Location Of Suncoast Broadway Dinner Theatre
You’ll find the theatre on U.S. Highway 19 near the Pasco–Hernando county line, within easy driving distance from Tampa. The venue combines a compact, intimate auditorium with full dining service and basic accessibility features.
Suncoast Broadway Dinner Theatre sits at 16128 U.S. Hwy 19, Hudson, FL 34667.
Parking is on‑site in a surface lot adjacent to the building.
Seating Capacity
The theatre has a single main auditorium sized for a small to mid‑scale audience. Seating is arranged in fixed rows with unobstructed sightlines to the proscenium stage. The typical dinner‑theatre layout seats between 200 and 350 guests, but capacity varies by show configuration and table arrangements.
The Dining Experience
Dinner is included with your ticket. Drinks are not included; you pay for them at the end of the evening.
I have to say I had no clue what to expect. I did not know if it would be a buffet or a menu. It turned out to be a buffet, which, unless we are eating crab or Korean BBQ, the chances of me liking it are slim to none.
The buffet is located behind the dining area, facing the stage, and you go to the buffet in the order of the tables. A salad is brought to you before it’s your turn to hit the buffet, as are any drinks you purchase. A member of staff will guide you to the buffet when it’s your turn. There is nothing special to report about the salad – it’s a salad after all.
Suncoast Broadway Dinner Theatre’s Buffet
The food options are often themed after the show of the night. In our case, we were here to see Chicago. So, true to form, the food was traditional Chicago fare (my worst nightmare). Italian beef, pasta dishes, and Italian sausage were flowing. The only thing missing was pizza, and that my friends would have made me run a mile. I don’t eat pizza.
Now, my tastes aside, the food offered was good value for money. Nothing amazing and definely not high end, but it was better than I expected, and I am stunned at how they are able to offer a Broadway show and dinner at the prices they do.
I didn’t go to Suncoast Broadway Dinner Theatre for the food – I went for the show. So, all said and done, I look at it like this: I got a free meal. Or, a meal is included in my ticket. And I knew the food would likely be themed to the show.
I will also tell you that regardless of the food’s theme, it would not stop me from attending. I would much rather go to a local venue than travel to a bigger city like Tampa.
The Shows
As mentioned, we were here to see Chicago. I’ve seen Chicago on Broadway in the windy city. I was super excited to see if Suncoast Broadway Dinner Theatre could pull this off.
They nailed it! The show exceeded any expectations I had. And even though you are not sitting in a traditional theatre, there were zero compromises in the show or the experience.
Everything from the set to the singing, lighting, and costumes was spot on.
Ticket Prices
Individual ticket prices typically range from about $69–$89 depending on dinner inclusion and seating. You select your seats prior to a show. Naturally, the closer to the stage, the more you pay.
You can buy single-show tickets or season tickets; exchanges are allowed up to 72 hours before a performance, and all sales become final 24 hours after purchase.
Box office hours are Tuesday–Saturday, 10:00 AM–5:00 PM (with limited summer hours), and phone purchases incur a fee different from online orders.
Pro Tip: You can buy different types of season tickets. For example, you can choose a package that includes two to six shows.
What Types Of Shows Does Suncoast Broadway Dinner Theatre Offer?
There is a focus on Broadway-style musicals rather than straight plays, emphasizing vocal-driven, spectacle-ready productions that suit a dinner-theatre staging. Programming mixes long-run favorites and limited-engagement specials to appeal to broad audiences — from classic book musicals to contemporary jukebox shows. Productions use a professional company and are designed for an intimate house, so orchestration, choreography, and set design scale to the room while maintaining a polished, theatrical presentation.

If you need to change performance dates, exchanges are normally allowed up to 72 hours before showtime for the same production; refunds are not provided after the ticket final-sale window closes.
