Just walking around the perimeter and viewing all the booths will take you at least a couple of hours, if not more. There are also booths and activities woven in the middle.

When you arrive, there is a schedule of all events. You’ll see this as soon as you enter. My advice is to study the times of the events you want to watch and plan around them. Here is the 2026 schedule to give you an idea of what to expect:

Plan by show times and stage locations so you don’t miss headline acts or the biggest crowd draws. And, if you want to see the jousting, make that a priority – it’s difficult to get seating for this event unless you show up before it starts.

However, there are plenty of other food options. I was actually surprised by the variety of choices. You can get everything from Philly cheese steaks and pizza to roast beef sandwiches, bratwursts, baked potatoes with toppings, and meat pies. There is also traditional fair food – donuts, funnel cake, etc.

There is a mix of nonalcoholic and alcoholic choices, including ale, mead-style drinks, specialty lemonades, and spiced ciders. Liquor is available, but fewer bars offer it. Most of the drink booths are beer-themed.

Specialty concoctions like apple cider floats and flavored meads are available at signature vendor stalls on weekends. Soft drinks and coffee are widely available; if you prefer something specific, check vendor maps or the festival app for exact locations and hours.

A couple of things worth mentioning: while the food booths may look alike, they all sell different things, so I would recommend walking the entire area before deciding what to eat. The same concept applies to drinks; they are all different.

Lastly, on the food and drink options. Everything is exceptionally affordable. In 2026, there wasn’t one meal option over $10.

What To Wear At The Florida Renaissance Festival

For many, this is where the real fun comes in! Going into this, I assumed everyone would be in medieval or Renaissance attire. Boy, was I wrong! No costume is off limits – none! You can wear absolutely anything you like, and trust me, this is exactly what people do.

People were dressed as fairies, knights in armour, cows, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones characters, mermaids, princesses, robots, and clowns. That’s just to name a few! When it comes to costumes, anything goes. Naturally, there were lots of people in Renaissance attire as well. There’s a costume competition for adults and kids, and I think it’s fair to say that even if people don’t plan to enter, everyone comes out in “compete” mode.

Now, some practical advice for you on what to wear. You all know that the weather in Florida is totally unpredictable. If you attend on a hot day and wear a heavy costume, you will bake. It was fairly hot when I attended in March, and it did not seem to bother anyone, but plan accordingly. The other challenge is that the event takes place on a field. It’s dusty and uneven. Your shoes or feet will be filthy when you come out – there is no way of avoiding this.
